Gallery & Retail Director

Washed Ashore Gallery

The Gallery and Retail Director develops and implements a robust plan, approved by the Executive Director, for the operations of the gallery and workshop at the Washed Ashore Gallery in the Harbortown Events Center (HTEC) in Bandon, Oregon. The position reports to the Executive Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as curator of the gallery for display of all artwork, photos and educational materials
  • Arranges tours and docent program, and serves as lead education team member
  • Manages the retail store at HTEC including inventory, point-of-sale system, display, research of new items, and management of staff and volunteers
  • Implements and manages an efficient online retail store for Washed Ashore’s products to support Artula’s budget
  • Develops a membership and donation program in collaboration with the Executive Director to attract monthly and annual donations from locals, tourists, and online visitors
  • Works to achieve revenue goals for retail sales and donations set by the Executive Director
  • Oversees HTEC workshop operations and Washed Ashore’s volunteer program
  • Manages social media accounts to effectively promote and build support for Artula and Washed Ashore brands
  • Supervises retail, docent, and gallery staff and volunteers that support the implementation of marketing duties
  • Works in collaboration with the Executive Director and all staff on the advancement of the organization’s mission through its various programs, retail sales, educational programming, and other activities
  • Produces reports for the Executive Director
  • Handles other duties at the request of the Executive Director

Compensation & Benefits:

$38,000-40,000 yearly salary, full-time salaried, with health insurance and vacation and sick paid time off according to the organization’s personnel policy

Facility & Production Manager

Sorting plastic art suppliesThe Facility & Production Manager manages the operation and facility at Washed Ashore’s Art101 marine debris processing and art production center. The position reports to the Executive Director, and works under the direction of the Artistic Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the facility at Art101 including upkeep of buildings, equipment, and tools
  • Oversees and participates in the cleaning, sorting and preparing collected marine debris for use in Washed Ashore artwork
  • Supervises other staff and volunteers who work at Art101
  • Ensures proper safety protocols are developed and followed by staff and volunteers
  • Maintains tools, equipment, and buildings
  • Participates in building Washed Ashore sculptures
  • Works in collaboration with the Executive Director and all staff on the advancement of the organization’s mission through its various programs, educational programming, and other activities
  • Produces reports for the Executive Director
  • Handles other duties at the request of the Executive Director and/or the Artistic Director
  • Must be able to lift heavy items, work with machinery and equipment, and work on ladders

Compensation & Benefits:

$38,000-40,000 yearly salary, full-time salaried, with health insurance and vacation and sick paid time off according to the organization’s personnel policy
