The Artula Institute
Artula Institute
Artula Institute for Arts and Education is the foundational non-profit organization which enabled and supported the Washed Ashore project. In the early days, Artula hosted an Artist in Residency program by the sea in Bandon, Oregon, which supported the forming of Washed Ashore. Washed Ashore’s continued growth has become the cornerstone of Artula, with four traveling exhibits, ongoing sculpture making and a multitude of other projects.

Thank you to our founder
Angela Haseltine Pozzi
Founding Artist
Angela’s work as an artist and educator gained new focus in 2010 when she founded the non-profit Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea. Since then, her passion has inspired collaborative learning through art which lead our talented Washed Ashore team members and volunteer artists to reach a growing audience worldwide. The uniquely beautiful sculptures at the heart of the Washed Ashore mission motivate us to learn more and do more to address the problem of plastic pollution in our environment and our precious oceans. Thank you for ten years Angela!
